Writing a Literature Research Paper

Writing a Literature Research PaperWriting a literature research paper is something that many of us want to do but never seem to get around to. It's not because we're intimidated by the subject, it's more because we don't know where to start. Before you start procrastinating or just sit around wishing you were writing a paper, here are some pointers to get you started on your way to writing a great one.The first step to writing a literature research paper is to sit down and list down all of the types of literature that you're interested in. Are you writing a book? A magazine article? An essay? All of these will require a different style and therefore a different research style. After deciding which ones you're going to write about, take a few minutes to write out what type of writing you're going to be doing. From there, try to put together a short outline of what you're going to cover in each section. Do this in advance of actually writing any of the material, or you'll be scrambling to do something that doesn't quite make sense.Don't begin writing a paper until you've filled out your outline. If you don't have an outline, write one and fill it out before you start writing. Then you can go back over the outline and figure out exactly what you need to write. If you can't come up with a topic, try to list down the things that you'll need to cover in each section. For example, if you're writing a book then you'll need to know a bit about the publishing industry and then what book covers you'll need to look at. As a matter of fact, I can't tell you how many times I've been faced with a topic and thought 'I don't know where to start...'Writing your literature research paper is like reading a story. It takes time to set up the structure and then you have to continue writing throughout the piece. You'll get stuck and wonder why you even bothered. When you start writing the essay, you may find that it takes longer than you were expecting. Just keep on writing and keep at it and soon enough you'll see a finished piece.
